Ugh, so, Microsoft. They’re testing this new thing with the Xbox app on PC — all your games from different places in one spot. Honestly, about time, right? Anyway, this feature’s hitting Xbox Insiders now and later showing up on those new ROG Xbox handheld doodads. Oh, but get this, only certain game libraries like Battle.net, EA, and Riot Games are actually gonna be part of it — thanks to Game Pass. Funny thing, Riot’s already kind of there. They claim more will join soon though, maybe the big guys like Steam or Epic.
If they nail this, us PC folks might finally have the same cozy library vibe console users are used to. I mean, GoG Galaxy sort of does this but doesn’t everyone prefer stuff baked right into Windows? Speaking of which, Microsoft’s been steering Xbox more into like a service-oriented model, if that makes sense. This whole Game Pass and PC gaming focus pretty much proves it.
Oh, and these new Xbox handheld gaming PCs? They aren’t stopping either. Even ditched their own handheld project to tweak Windows 11 for third-party gadgets. Smart or not? Hmm.
What’s next? Well, they didn’t spill when everyone gets this nifty feature. But since it’s rolling with the ROG Ally during the holidays, guessing late this year or maybe 2026 for the rest of us. Keep an eye out or whatever.
