Sure thing! Here goes:

So, Xbox and virtual reality, right? Everyone was like, “Nah, Xbox won’t do VR,” but ha! Surprise! A thread on X (the app formerly known as Twitter—don’t ask why they changed it) got everyone talking about images of an Xbox-branded Meta Quest. But oops, thread’s gone now. Thankfully some user, @bmfshow, saved the day by reposting the pics.
And oh man, those pics were something! Made me kinda excited, not gonna lie. June 20, 2025—that’s when the tweet went up. Funny how things pop up and disappear, right? Anyway, where was I?
Ah, yeah, so Windows Central… I think it was them… reported Xbox’s VR attempts in 2024, but now it sounds like we might see it June 24 this year. Price tag: $399. Not too shabby, considering Xbox just teamed up with Asus for some gaming handhelds. Oh, the drama with Project Kennan—Xbox’s shelved handheld idea. Maybe it’s intentional. Or maybe they just said “meh.”
Gamesandwich.com spilled the beans on the Xbox Quest 3S, shadow-dropping June 24. Hopefully. It’s black and green like every other Xbox thing—classic. Has about 128GB memory, close enough to Meta Quest 3S sans Xbox jazz. And the bundle? Comes with an Elite Strap, a controller, and like three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Pretty sweet deal, right?
And, I gotta mention, Microsoft’s “This is an Xbox” — yeah, people had mixed feelings. But now, with Xbox-friendly platforms all over? It kinda makes sense. Guess they had a plan all along—or maybe they just got lucky.
Phil Spencer from Microsoft Gaming used to say no one wanted VR on Xbox. Or something. But Xbox’s marketing? It took a turn with Xbox Cloud Gaming, et cetera. A bunch of Xbox games are on Meta Quest thanks to cloud gaming, and it seems streaming’s still the go-to, even for Xbox’s VR stuff.
The “This is an Xbox” move expanded Xbox’s territory—from just consoles to phones, TVs, VR—yeah, you name it. Okay, rambled enough. Hope you’re up to speed now!
