Oh man, okay, where to start? I stumbled across this PlayStation fan, totally geeking out over a LEGO version of the OG PlayStation. You know, that classic gray box that basically kicked off Sony’s journey into the gaming world. I always felt like it had a presence, like something you’d find in the corner of your childhood living room with cables snaking across the floor. Ah, nostalgia.
So, this fan took that nostalgia and built it out of LEGO. Wild, right? Like, brick by brick, they crafted not just the outside but even the innards of the PS1. I mean, think about it. How many pieces did it take to even make a disc tray that opens? A lot, I’m guessing. No clue why this caught my eye, but hey, it just did.
Sony itself seems pretty into the whole “blast from the past” thing too. Remember the PlayStation Classic? Yeah, it kinda got overshadowed by the NES and SNES minis. But Sony’s still putting those old-school games out on PS4 and PS5, PS Plus Premium and all that jazz. Anyway, back to LEGO.
Over on Reddit, some user named Robymuso90 posted this masterpiece and, let me tell you, it’s a sight for sore eyes. Little LEGO controller ports and even memory cards! Someone give that person a medal or something. I felt like a kid again, imagining cramming those tiny plastic pads into my palm.
Oh! There was this thing about using some kind of LEGO kit designer? Sounds technical. They even threw it on LEGO’s Ideas forum, hoping it might morph into an official kit one day. Fingers crossed, right?
And, amidst all this LEGO talk, Sony’s busy celebrating their big 3-0 last year. Like, we’ve been playing these consoles for the better part of three decades. Let that sink in. Fifteen years since PS Plus got rolling too, with bonuses and discounted goodies. It’s like a walk down memory lane, realized in shiny, colored bricks.
