Oh hey. It’s me—again. So, after I finished venting through The Last of Us Part II (yes, the violence, I know), now it’s time to chillax and imagine a repair-filled future. And who better for that than Sam Porter Bridges, right?
Seriously, I fell hard for Death Stranding. It’s one of those games that’s like, so thick with stuff. I played it a bunch, and there’s still so much that’s like—what even? But in a good way. You know, mysterious. I’m totally excited for more of that wonderfully bizarre, sometimes-to-the-edge Kojima world.
So the first game mixed these massive, real-world ideas like human connection with its own wild stuff—like extinction entities. How it looked at our fight against, well, death and the weird twists that come from that. Really the kind of headspace I need with life being… what it is, and all the crazy things happening around us, right?
Kojima, oh Kojima, he’s said he had to tweak Death Stranding 2’s script post-pandemic. Now it’s asking, “Should We Have Connected?” Yep, that’s literally all I ponder nowadays. No clue if Kojima’s answer will be what I’m hunting for, but diving into his mind sounds like just what I need. — Claire Jackson
