Bloober Team’s always been about those eye-popping horror experiences, right? But, if you were hoping for some wild action, well… until that Silent Hill 2 Remake popped up, you were mostly outta luck.
Now, here’s the good part. Cronos: The New Dawn changes the game. If you’re like me and kinda prefer to stand and fight instead of playing hide and seek with things trying to eat you, then this is it.
I remember when Cronos first showed up — it felt like every action-horror fan was buzzing. Initially, folks thought it looked like Dead Space. But, turns out, it’s got its own flair.
So, the combat’s got this weird twist where enemies can, like, merge together. It’s kinda wild. Picture this: you’re mid-battle and suddenly, boom, the difficulty spikes ’cause some creepy dude just absorbed his buddy. You really gotta think about where you wanna throw down because positioning matters big time.
Oh, and about those enemy bodies — yeah, enemies can absorb them to heal up or get new attacks. You’re gonna want to pull them away from any potential snacks. Adds this whole tactical layer, y’know?
Resource scarcity is a thing here, too. You’re not just blasting through like some action hero — it’s more calculated. Talked to the directors earlier this year, and they mentioned this shift towards more action was deliberate. They want that blend of old-school horror with some new interactive twists.
Still no solid release date, sadly. It’s slated for a fall release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, so I guess we’ll just have to hang tight ‘til then.
