You know, it’s kinda funny how Bigscreen’s latest gadget, Beyond 2, is finally hitting the streets. They’ve just started shipping these sleek VR headsets after a bunch of hiccups. I read somewhere—don’t remember where, honestly—that they were running late. Guess what? They’re off the starting blocks now, well, sort of.
There’s this massive pile of pre-orders. Like, seriously, stacks of ’em. They’re hoping to sort through all that jazz by August. Maybe stretch into September. Classic, right? And for anyone just spotting these beauties and thinking “I gotta have one,” hold tight. Current orders are supposed to show up at your door in late summer-ish. They really should’ve sent me one. Or maybe I just didn’t ask. Oh well.
So, Beyond 2 comes in two flavors: the regular and the “e” version—with eye-tracking! Now, that’s fancy if you ask me. Pricing? Not exactly a bargain bin find—$1,019 for the basic and $1,219 if you want your eyes followed.
Funny thing, people seem nuts for these headsets. When the pre-orders kicked off in March, it was like a feeding frenzy. More sold in 24 hours than the original managed in four months. Makes you wonder what’s got people so hyped. Beyond 2’s first 11 days even outsold the first year of Beyond 1. That’s wild. They had to crank up production in LA and brought on a bunch of new folks. Also, sounds like they’ve got some engineers abroad—keeping tabs, I guess?
Other stuff’s happening too. Those Custom-Fit Cushions are gonna ship by mid-August for folks who ordered them early. Halo Mount orders got a bit of a hold-up. Expect those to drop in late September or maybe October. You know how it is—manufacturing delays and all.
Oh, and for anyone who ordered Beyond 1 but never received it, surprise upgrade to Beyond 2. It’s like waiting forever for a burger, then they give you an extra patty. How cool is that? Expected delivery is by July 25th, they say.
One last tidbit—back in April, Bigscreen told everyone, “Nope, we’re not jacking up prices because of those tariffs.” A breath of fresh air, I say, especially with all the US-China tariff drama. Keeps things a bit more grounded for the wallet.
