Nintendo just dropped this whirlwind of an eight-minute trailer for Drag x Drive. And if you haven’t heard, there’s this thing called the Global Jam demo. It’s happening the weekend of August 9-10, 2025. Mark your calendars, or don’t. Live your best life.
So, here’s the scoop: unveiled during this big Nintendo Direct Switch 2 shindig, Drag x Drive is basically this sports game with a twist. It’s pronounced “Drag and Drive” — I guess they wanna keep us on our toes with names these days. Anyway, you’re thrown into this three-on-three showdown where you gotta use mouse controls? Yeah, with both Joy-Con 2s at once. It sounds like a dance for your fingers — steering and speeding like you’re in a digital ballet, pulling off tricks and dunks. No pressure, right?
When I first messed around with it, I had way too much fun — like, more than I expected. But here’s the thing, something just didn’t click. Like, questions lingered. You know that nagging feeling? The dual mouse control setup? Surprisingly not as chaotic as you’d think, which is a plot twist I didn’t see coming. But who’s gonna stick around and play this thing long-term? That’s the million-dollar question.
Oh, and for those of you itching to get your hands on it — it’s hitting the Nintendo eShop for the Switch 2, worldwide, on August 14, 2025. Just digital though, so don’t go searching for a physical copy.
Now, if you’re curious, they’ve put out this overview trailer. Probably on YouTube, because, of course. Dive in if you feel like it, or skip it. Either way, there it is.
