The folks over at The Pokémon Company International have this new thing coming up—an expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket called Wisdom of Sea and Sky. And it’s hitting next week. Yeah, I’m a bit hyped. Dates? Oh, right—Wednesday, July 30, 2025, to be exact. Funny how these dates stick. Anyway…
So, this time around, we’re diving back into the good old Johto region. Remember the days of Pokémon Gold and Silver? Nostalgia right there. We’re talking Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile making their grand re-entrance. And big names like Lugia and Ho-Oh—I mean, who doesn’t remember them?
Something fresh too—no Energy needed for some of these new attacks. Could be a game-changer, right? I’m already imagining all sorts of kooky strategies this might bring out of players. Wild times ahead.
Right, there’s also a bunch of updates on the trading front. If I remember correctly, they’re adding this Wishlist Feature. It’s kind of like shouting into the void what cards you’re after, but actually useful. Players can flaunt their top three wants on their profile. Sort of like advertising, but not really.
Oh, and trade tokens? Poof, gone. Shinedust is the new currency, or something like that. You get it by doing missions or finding duplicate cards, which I do all the time. I mean, don’t we all? The whole system’s changing July 30. So, you better get cracking on those trades before then. Just saying.
Almost forgot—Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is up for grabs on iOS and Android. Handy for when you’re on the go. Not that I ever leave home without my cards, let’s be honest.
Oh, there’s supposed to be a trailer too. But honestly, I got sidetracked before finding a link. Typical, huh?
