Man, where to even start with all the Capcom shenanigans lately? Feels like just yesterday they were flaunting all their new titles like a proud parent. Summer Game Fest and whatnot. We got a peek at Resident Evil: Requiem, and Pragmata’s back from the dead—seriously thought it went poof. Plus, some fresh things for Street Fighter 6.
But, I mean, blink and you missed it. Teasers galore, which just means they’re hyping up the real-deal spectacle—Capcom Spotlight. That’s dropping today.
Oh, and don’t even get me started on the cookie consent messages you gotta click through everywhere. Anyway, where was I? Ah, right—Capcom Spotlight has all the deets: everything from Summer Game Fest plus the monster fiesta with Monster Hunter Wild’s big update. They call it Title Update 2, so we’re obviously getting the scoop and maybe a date. Or I hope, at least.
Street Fighter 6 is throwing in some spicy names for Year 3. Sagat popping up this summer, C. Viper’s strutting in fall, Alex when spring’s still wearing its coat, and Ingrid afterwards. Crossing fingers they spring a surprise Sagat date on us today.
Pragmata, oh Pragmata—like, honestly, who saw that coming? Most folks wrote it off as another ghost project. But surprise! Capcom shows off gameplay with a 2026 window, and it was even playable at Summer Game Fest. Can’t make this stuff up. Tonight’s likely to sprinkle more of that playable demo love, maybe some dev chats, too.
But let’s not kid ourselves—the buzz is all about Resident Evil Requiem. We barely got crumbs at its unveiling. Super vague, kind of like reading a mystery novel without the last chapter. Apparently, media peeps saw a dev-played demo, so fingers crossed the rest of us get in on that tonight. There’s this spooky aura around the 9th mainline game, especially with Capcom trying to be all cryptic about what type of game it is.
Set your watches—Capcom Spotlight’s a whole 40-minute fiesta, coming in hot at 3 pm PT, 6 pm ET, 11 pm BST. Catch it on Capcom’s usual digital hangouts—YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, TikTok. Wherever floats your boat.
Gonna be a show, hopefully worth the popcorn.
