Wow, okay, so here goes. I was pouring over today’s WWDC news—honestly didn’t think I’d be this deep into tech updates, but here we are—and the whole Vision Pro thing kinda jumped out. They’re adding support for PSVR 2 controllers and some Logitech pencil thing? Right? Total curveball since Apple was all hands-only to start. Wasn’t just me who thought so, right?
So, in some WWDC 2025 developer chit-chat—not that I’m watching every minute, but hey, it caught my eye—Apple spills the beans on motion controllers for VisionOS 26. Sounds like developers can now make apps where these motion thingies are “optional” or “required.” Hmm… a whole new world of button-mashing, maybe?
I caught this image (super high-tech and all)—had to chuckle, because if you squint, it’s like those motion controllers have their own little red carpet moment. Anyway, back to what I was saying, or trying to say; developers are getting to choose if their apps absolutely need these gadgets or not. Like, does this mean we’re gonna see stuff only working with fancy controllers? And if not, will users be like, “Yeah, not for me”? Guess we’ll see.
And here we are with VisionOS 26 — it’s like, hey, just import your old VR creations, motion controllers are fine, no fuss! And that means less of that head-scratching over hand-tracking conversion. Apparently. But seriously, how’s that going to shake out, huh?
Another snazzy pic here, and I’m pretty sure the techies are geeking out. Builders (or whatever we call developers these days) now have two modes to fiddle with: Predicted and Continuous. Predicted mode? Guessing where your hand-thingy will go before you even know. Sci-fi stuff, right? Perfect for all the zipping around in games.
But then there’s Continuous mode, just chill and precise — think art or getting that perfect spreadsheet (someone’s hobby, maybe). Doesn’t overshoot, but whispers of lag linger. Wonder if they’ll ever tell us those lag stats straight out…
Anyhow—wait, did I lose my thread again?—there’s more stuff on VisionOS 26 somewhere out there. Might be worth a peek. Or not, if geeking out isn’t your vibe. Cheers!
