Alright, where do I start? So, there’s this game, “Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector” – sounds fancy, right? I mean, it’s for the PS5, so that already feels futuristic. It’s by these folks at Fellow Traveler and Jump Over The Age. We’re back in this cyberpunk world, but instead of just gawking at neon lights, you’re a bit of a lab rat… er, sleeper. Imagine your brain is chillin’ in a metal body. Spooky? Maybe just a little.
You gotta escape from this corporation, Essen-Arp – no, not making that up – and dodge a gang too. Like, everyone wants a piece of you, literally. You’re hacking your way out, rewriting code or something. Yeah, like I remember a thing from my past life. Nope! Memory wiped clean. Figures!
Oh, and the gameplay? You pick a class – Operator, Extractor, Machinist. Each comes with its quirks, like rerolling dice or stressing you out. That’s right, stress is now measurable with dice. (What a time to be alive or not.) The Operator’s all techie, playing with drones, while the Extractor is… sweaty and heavy lifting? Machinist’s off tweaking machines like it’s their day job. There’s dice rolling, stress meters, and other geeky particulars.
Speaking of choices, there’s like a “Choose Your Own Adventure” book vibe. They say dice rolls dictate everything. Am I the only one getting flashbacks of game nights that spiraled out of control? Anyway, your choices impact the story. No pressure.
And, oh boy, difficulty modes. Safe is a breeze. “Risky” sounds like my morning coffee ritual gone wrong. And then, “Dangerous” – not for the faint-hearted. Like playing dodgeball with life decisions.
Trophies? Oh, there are loads. Bronze, Silver, Gold… you get the picture. Makes me wonder if there’s a badge for just surviving all this chaos.
Firefly and Cowboy Bebop – yeah, those are the vibes. Crewmate dramas, spaceships, the whole shebang. And hey, for $24.99, it’s cheaper than a flight to anywhere these days. If you’re feeling extra, there’s a $39.99 collection. More games for more escapism, I guess.
Meandering thoughts and still haven’t figured life out. But at least now, we can do it in digital style, navigating the Starward Belt. Thanks, PlayStation.
