Alright, so here’s the deal. Samsung’s got this big event, Unpacked, happening soon. It’s like the Oscars for their gadgets. We’re talking foldables—Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 are on the list. And then there’s the Galaxy Watch 8, which I hear might have some crazy new features. Oh, and there’s a mysterious XR headset in the mix, something they’re calling Project Moohan. Sound intriguing? I thought so.
So, this Project Moohan thing—they teased it last December with Android XR. It’s supposed to be the first to run on Google’s XR operating system. But, surprise surprise, no one really knows when it’s dropping. Samsung’s been as secretive as my cat when she finds a new hiding spot. Panda Flash—you know, that leaker who always seems to know what’s up—says we might get release info at the event. Fingers crossed.
Funny part is, we thought Google I/O last month might spill the beans. But nope, not a word. Maybe Samsung’s being all protective.
By the way, Panda Flash is also saying this XR thing will first pop up in South Korea. Guess they’re taking a page out of Apple’s playbook with that US-first Vision Pro launch. Global folks will just have to wait their turn.
Oh, lovely tidbit—we got to see this Project Moohan in action last December. Specs? Sure, I’ll spill some. It’s got a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 + Gen 2, micro-OLED panels (thanks, Sony), and pancake lenses. Automatic IPD adjustment—doesn’t that sound fancy? Plus, eye and hand-tracking. They’re even talking about some attachable light shield and removable battery. And VR controllers are in the mix somewhere, but who knows what they look like.
Also, there’s a whisper about smart glasses. Samsung might be throwing its hat in the ring against Ray-Ban and Meta. Imagine that showdown.
So yeah, waiting on those official dates for Unpacked. Should be early next month in NYC. I’ll be watching—more for the drama than the gear, if I’m honest.
