Whoa, okay, so here’s the deal. nDreams, those VR wizards, are like about to blow our minds with this new game—Reach. I mean, seriously, it’s got this crazy immersive vibe going on. The big reveal came from their shiny new team called nDreams Elevation. That name though—sounds like they’re sending us to space or something.
Anyway, they did this Developer Direct thing (fancy, right?) and blabbed a lot about how Reach might just reset the whole VR gaming scene. Some gameplay teaser dropped last week. Ends up being all about parkour and combat, which is like combining running up walls with punching bad guys—totally my idea of a good time.
The design guru Matt Duff (who probably drinks too much coffee, just guessing) says the game is anchored in these three pillars—action, adventure, presence. Don’t ask me why, but when he said “VR first,” I imagined him with a superhero cape. They went all out redefining movement—none of that floating around nonsense. Picture this: grabbing stuff with your virtual hands and feeling like Spiderman.
Oh, and the jumping? Totally wild. Usually, I end up feeling like a clumsy giraffe in VR, but here, they’re doing Jedi mind tricks to make you believe you’re soaring. No floating hands, thank goodness. Instead, it’s all “Check out my entire body in VR!” Which is, um, a little surreal at first.
There’s combat too, like full-on action meets stealth. Mix and match your attacks, maybe a little bow action, perhaps some sneaky maneuvers. Explosive arrows? Yep. Draw enemies away and take ‘em out when they least expect it. Sounds almost like a spy movie.
Heads up, it drops soon on all major VR headsets. I’ve got a reminder set for the Horizon Store, but I’ll probably forget and need another reminder. Whoops.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to go dream about being a VR ninja.
