Well, so today was a bit of a thing, right? Elden Ring’s Nightreign servers went poof for like an hour or something. Maintenance mode, they said. All for this teeny-weeny patch, 1.01.2 or whatever. Not a mountain of changes, if you ask me.
So, this patch, yeah, it’s supposed to fix some bugs. But hey, let’s be real, the main thing here? Nerfs. Ugh. One or two sneaky little changes you might have totally missed if you blinked.
Oh, but wait, don’t you love when sites tell you to enable cookies? Like, “yes, I totally trust strangers with my data.” And just for some dumb video or whatever. Classic.
Anyway, this update lands hot on the heels of the last one from June 2. But guess what? No groundbreaking features this time! Just a couple of tweaks. Like, get this: there was a bug making bows all powerful because of some extra magic or lightning or whatever it was adding. Made them feel like Thor’s weapon or something. But, oopsie, fixed now!
And then, another tweak. Some weapons were doing extra bonus damage and causing all kinds of chaos. Not what was planned, obviously. So yeah, they reeled that back in.
Oh, there was this image in the patch notes with Limgrave looking all mysterious with a purple sky. Not sure why that’s important, but neat pic anyway. Props to Bandai Namco/FromSoftware for that little gem.
There’s more, like, they sorted out how some fancy weapons with Projectile Damage stuff are now back in the loot. And those hunting for the Demon Merchant in Limveld? Congrats, that sneaky merchant will finally pop up when they’re meant to. About time!
Here’s the rundown, if you’re curious:
– Fixed the overpowered bow bug. Spoiler alert: no fun now.
– Those pesky weapon skills that were overachieving? Fixed.
– Projectile mechanic stuff? Fixed.
– Demon Merchant mystery? Solved. Sort of.
– Adel’s battle hiccups? Maybe fixed? Sounds about right.
– Wormface’s annoying grab attack issue? Yup, fixed too. Hopefully.
Looks like developers said players might still run into issues? Could be the same bugs, could be new ones. Who knows. Fingers crossed today’s server time-out didn’t mess with those hunting down Nightreign’s ultra-rare treasure. At least those with the guide in hand are golden, downtime or not.
Anyway, rambled enough. Go check the game, maybe there’s still some magic left even after all these changes. Or maybe it’s all swords and grief now. Who knows!
