Argath’s disdain for the less fortunate? Yeah, it’s hitting a high-def level I didn’t expect.
So, there was this Sony State of Play shindig and—surprise, surprise—some crumbs landed for the Switch crowd. Honestly, I just didn’t see this coming, or maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention. Who knows.
First off, the legendary Final Fantasy Tactics, that old-school gem from ‘97/’98 on the PlayStation, is making a remastered comeback. It popped up in some NVIDIA leaks earlier, and I had one of those “I knew it!” moments when they announced it. Mark your calendars for September 30. Square Enix finally spilled the beans: both the trusty Switch and its upcoming sibling, Switch 2, are getting this treat. Remember this RPG strategy adventure in the Ivalice universe? Yeah, same world as Final Fantasy XII. It had sequels on GBA and DS, but this is its Nintendo debut. Honestly, better late than never.
More goodies for the Switch! Drumroll Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection. (I still can’t spell “kollection” without cringing a bit.) Digital Eclipse is bringing us more gore than ever. It’s like a bloody walk down memory lane with the first four Mortal Kombat entries, including the “Ultimate” take on the third one. Arcade? Console? Yep, they’re mixing it up—and maybe a few extra surprises thrown in. So, keep your fingers crossed.
Oh, and get this: There’s a James Bond game brewing—007 First Light. Remember the buzz from April’s Direct? Well, we’re looking at a 2026 launch on Switch 2. Old Bond and new console? Sign me up.
Meanwhile, the golf universe is getting a bit wacky! Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots, out on September 5, features Pac-Man as one of the golfers. An arcade icon swinging clubs. Not sure why this tickles me, but here we are.
Lastly, for the Ninja Gaiden nostalgia seekers, circle July 31. Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is dropping, and here’s the best part—those maestros from the NES trilogy days, Keiji Yamagishi, Ryuichi Niita, and Kaori Nakabai, are back to charm us with new tunes. Soundtrack magic is incoming.
Anyway, did any of that make sense? Hope so, because it’s all over the map, just like my train of thought.
