Alright, let’s dive in. So, there’s this game from FromSoftware, those folks who just love punishing us in the most interesting of ways. They’ve whipped up eight new bosses for this thing, Elden Ring Nightreign. I ended up facing all these Nightlord bosses before I even sat down to think about writing this. There’s something about these bosses that just screams “top-tier,” but there’s this one – Libra, Creature of Night – that really stuck in my brain. Imagine a freaky, goat-headed demon waiting at the end of this level called the Equilibrious Beast Expedition. Weird name, right? But it’s a vibe.
First time you meet him, he’s just chilling there like some dude in a hood. I thought, “Oh, it’s on,” so bam, arrow. But get this – he just growls at you, like “Really?” Turns out, you can, like, talk to him. How wild is that? A little trade icon pops up, and he starts offering these bizarre deals, kind of like a creepy vendor at a flea market. Some trade-off involves sacrificing a few levels for legendary gear. But my personal fave? Lose a level each time you swig your healing flask. Sounds insane, but who doesn’t like living on the edge?
So anyway, you make your pick – or not – and then the showdown starts. Libra shifts into this beast form and bombards you with magic that screws with your mind. You’re here dodging gold glyphs lighting up the place, trying not to get too freaked out. And if you’re brave enough to go toe-to-toe, he swings this massive staff at you. Can you say intense?
Oh, and he’s got this move – hits the ground, makes this Madness cloud. It’s everywhere. But plot twist, there are these little crystals in the madness that heal you. Pretty sure no one’s pulled that trick in a boss battle before. It’s wild, like something from a fever dream.
Libra is kinda all over the place. On one hand, he’s this nightmare fueling, chaos-bringing dude, but on the other, he’s vulnerable to the same Madness. Hit him with enough of it, and he just loses it – starts thrashing about. If you can keep your head on straight, there’s this perfect chance to strike back.
You don’t always have Madness stuff on hand, but you improvise. Libra does his little meditation bubble thing – you break the symbols circling him, and you’ve got him spinning like a top. I mean, he does get a bit of a power-up, but whatever, it’s still an opening.
Man, Libra is just something else. He’s chaotic, unpredictable, a bit of a trickster. Honestly, out of all the Nightlord bosses, he’s probably my top pick. I’ve been wrecked by him more times than I’d like to admit, but hey, it’s all in good fun. Now my friends have the game, it’s gonna be a wild ride taking him on together.
As for the game itself, Elden Ring Nightreign is this wild spin on FromSoftware’s usual stuff. There’s roguelike action, co-op elements, all wrapped in their signature challenging gameplay. Sure, the game isn’t perfect – kind of feels like there’s not much in terms of landscape variety. But if you’re a fan of getting battered in the best possible way, this one’s gold. It costs $39.99, but you can snag it for a bit less with those promo codes floating around on the net. Xbox or PC, it’s a ride worth taking.
