Okay, so there’s this game, right? COLD VR. Heard of it? Yeah, me neither until like five minutes ago. But here’s the deal. The folks at ALLWARE and Perp Games are shaking things up with this new edition called COLD VR: SUB-ZERO. Picture it like this: if Superhot VR was your jam, this is like its quirky little sibling. But — surprise twist — when you move, time sloooowwws down. So basically, panicking is the new strategy. Bet you didn’t see that coming. Or maybe you did. Who knows, right?
Anyway, June 2nd is when it’s all happening. Mark your calendar or set a reminder on your phone — or forget and stumble upon it later. That’s a vibe too. They’re rolling out five new levels for both Quest and PC VR, so it’s like a mini expansion pack of chaos. Plus, they’re tweaking the campaign with better enemy AI, aiming for a smoother experience. But, let’s be real — smoother might just mean different kinds of chaos. Just saying.
Oh, fun fact — or maybe not so fun, depending on how you see it — they’re redoing the intro and Main Menu. Maybe they figured people don’t want to be faffing about when they could be diving headfirst into the madness. Makes sense. Or does it? Depends who you ask.
Some nifty new features are dropping too. Catching weapons, better graphics — because who doesn’t love a good visual upgrade? — and full-on room-scale movement. bHaptics support means you can throw on your haptic vest and feel like you’re actually in the game. Like, why just see chaos when you can feel it, right?
Still waiting on the PSVR 2 version, but hey, patience is a virtue. Or at least that’s what they say. But until then, if you’re curious, it’s hanging out on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and above, and also on Steam for PC VR folks. All for the neat price of 20 bucks. Not too shabby.
So yeah, lots happening. Maybe it’s worth checking out? Or not. I dunno. But if you do, let me know how it goes.
