Thunderful recently dropped their latest developer diary for "Lost In Random: The Eternal Die," set to launch on the Nintendo Switch.
This time, we hear from narrative director Oskar Hanska, who delves into the game’s storytelling elements, focusing on character choices and voice performances.
The game, crafted by Stormteller Games (formerly Thunderful Gothenburg), marks a new addition to the quirky and dark universe of Lost in Random, offering rogue-lite action gameplay.
The story kicks off with Mare the Knight capturing Aleksandra, who once held the title of The Queen, along with her companion Fortune. They’re trapped inside the Black Die, and players must navigate a randomly generated maze filled with monstrous pawns and enormous board games, fighting their way to freedom.
Emerging victorious grants you treasures to bolster your efforts against Aleksandra’s captor. However, it’s your sharp mind and loyal die companion that will guide you out of this living dungeon where chaos reigns and Random is in control.
Key highlights of the game have been laid out by the publisher:
- Mastery Meets Chance: Dive into fast-paced combat that combines real-time action with strategic choices and a dash of luck.
- Forge Your Playstyle: Arm yourself with four distinct weapons, utilize your die-companion, and blend over 100 relics with powerful card-based abilities to create explosive combinations.
- Ever-Changing World: Journey through four dynamically generated worlds, each offering unique secrets and challenges while facing more than 30 different enemies and titanic bosses.
- A Dark Fantasy Tale: Get lost in a fully voiced story set in a world reminiscent of Tim Burton’s style, enriched with hauntingly stunning visuals and an enticing soundtrack.
"Lost In Random: The Eternal Die" is set for a digital release on the Nintendo eShop across the globe for Nintendo Switch in Summer 2025.
