Resolution Games just put out this sneak peek, right, of their new Demeo game – but now it’s got a Dungeons & Dragons twist. Awesome, huh? They tagged it as Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked. And yeah, finally, we see some gameplay! Took ’em long enough, if you ask me.
When they announced this whole crossover thing back in January, I was like, “Ooh, intriguing.” But, seriously, now we get to see the real deal – combat, settings, the whole shebang. Feels like the same ol’ Demeo we know – four players teaming up to bash creepy crawlies. Oh, and those dungeons? Still filled with nasties. Who would’ve guessed?
Now, I didn’t play Demeo before this – I know, what rock was I living under? So basically, you’re battling it out across these grid-style dungeons. Turn-based action, yeah? You roll this die to make your move. For Battlemarked, they kept the die: single sword means you hit, double swords for a killer hit, and a skull… yeah, that’s a bad roll. They also tossed in action cards that let you whack, guard, heal – all that jazz. Kind of fun to play as different character classes, I think.
Oh, and apparently, you can either strap on your VR headset or stick to your regular screen when it drops. Multiple options – always nice, right? Whether you’re on Quest 3, PSVR 2, or just your PC, you’re good. Crikey, technology these days.
Resolution Games is aiming for a late 2025 launch. Fingers crossed they don’t flake. They promise more news soon, like the exact date, other platforms, and what the second adventure involves. Anyway, they brought Matt Sernett on board as a story guy – he’s worked on a bunch of D&D stuff before – Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale ring a bell?
Meanwhile, if you’re as impatient as I am, you can wishlist it – Horizon Store, PlayStation Store, Steam, wherever you prefer. Just can’t wait to dive into this mashup.
