Okay, so here’s the thing. ININ is bringing out something called Parasol Superstars, and it’s a combo deal. We’re talking two games: Parasol Stars and Spica Adventure, dropping digitally on September 16. Oh, and there’s a fancy physical version – teaming up with this group called Strictly Limited Games. Sounds kind of exclusive, right? Anyway, let’s dive in.
So, these games are kind of a throwback. They’re saying it’s like two legendary adventures packed into one. I’m not sure who’s calling them legendary, but hey, they’re pushing that angle.
First up, Parasol Stars. Remember those bubble-blowing dragons, Bub and Bob? Yeah, they’re back but in some kind of magical human form. What’s with video games transforming characters like this? Anyway, in this Taito game, you use magical parasols — yes, parasols — to smack down enemies or whatever. They’re saving planets, casually, as one does.
Then there’s Spica Adventure. Enter Nico. She’s rocking a pink outfit and, guess what, another parasol! It’s a theme, clearly. I think she’s battling toy-like creatures on this colorful space trip. It was only in Japan before, which makes you wonder what else they’re keeping from us.
They’ve got some features… two whole platforming games, and it’s now all jazzed up for modern consoles or something. Controller support, co-op play in Parasol Stars? Yep, seems like they’re ticking all the boxes. Oh, and a Special Edition thing with an artbook and soundtrack — because why not?
If you’re into pre-orders, there’s the option on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Click somewhere if you want to check it out.
This whole setup has got me curious, but also, what’s with all the parasols? I mean, there’s something whimsically odd about using a sunshade as a weapon. But maybe that’s just what we need in gaming today. Who knows?
